Eirene is begin juli gestart met haar opleiding tot Graphic Designer. Ze heeft in de afgelopen maanden erg veel geleerd en heeft meegeholpen aan diverse projecten voor klanten van Rocketship Designs. Ze is nog steeds erg dankbaar voor de kans die ze via ons en Robert heeft gekregen. Eind oktober zal ze haar training afronden bij Rocketship. Haar droom is om als freelancer vanuit huis te kunnen werken en verder te gaan met haar nieuwe skills in Graphic Design. Voor sommigen misschien herhaling, maar hieronder nog even kort een verhaaltje over Eirene en haar achtergrond:
Eirene lives in Bicol, Philippines. Bicol is a province in the Philippines which is commonly hit by tropical storms because of its geographical location and therefor. Bicol is (together with Muslim-majority Bangsamoro) one of the poorest regions in the country.
Eirene is the daughter of a gardener in Bicol, Catanduanes. Eirene’s family is really not well of. In fact, her house is not fully built because of this storm that hit Catanduanes in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic. Because of the storm, they lost their home. They scavenged everything that they could from their destroyed home and tried to rebuild their home with the same materials. Of course, they haven’t completed it 100% yet, but at least they have roof over their heads right now. She finished high school education, but had no means for more education since her family is very poor. Eirene really wanted to help herself and her family by earning an income herself and learning some usefull skills. Which is how she ended up being our 8th candidate.
